Author Topic: Uhm, virus? Help?  (Read 11769 times)

Stop spouting bullstuff.
I'm not trying to spout anything, He actually is helping infact, The suggestions he giving actually could be the problem, You shouldn't automatically bash on someone because they may have confusion on a subject.
Blockzillahead has a bad reputation as it is
That's completely irrelevant to the thread, He is trying to help the original poster out.

Now then, Let's try to get back ontopic.

Running out of options here guys.

What are all the things you've tried so far?

I have been reading this thread since  page 1.

Good or Bad, running or not uninstall uneeded stuff like

Code: [Select]
C:\Users\Evar678\AppData\Local\Akamai\netsession_win.exe

Specially TightVNC it has a reputation of being easily corrupt and turned into trojans and keyloggers.
Any freeware stuff from CNET too.

This might be irrelevant but you also might want to check for Zero Access Rootkits.

Rootkit.ZeroAccess

I have had 2 computers forgeted over thanks to that damn Zero Access Rootkit.
It usually comes from auto-updaters or downloaders.

After reading this topic, I searched this :

https://www.google.com/search?q=del+eq%26echo+open

Many of the forum topics I saw discussed that VNC was vulnerable and it caused problems.

uninstall tightvnc.

if you must have a remote control program: http://www.teamviewer.com/en/index.aspx

Obviously a virus. Start in safe mode, system restore to the week before, and then run a virus scan.

It's like you didn't read anything but the OP

Read from page 1 then post instead of just reading the title and posting.

The least I can do is tell you to open up regedit in safemode, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER => Software => Microsoft => Windows => CurrentVersion => Run and look for random lettered executables that point to %AppData% folders and Windows folders such as System32. Check HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE (Including the sub-categories, CurrentVersion => Run) as well for the same thing.

Whatever you do, don't start removing registry entries, just take a screenshot of it and post it here. if you remove random entries then your computer will not work.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SystemRescueCD
with anti-malware should do it but it takes time to set up.

^

Might work, might not, just post a screenshot of it and don't delete entries.

Funny how I tell him that VNC is the problem, I get shot down about the idea, and then later people post that VNC is the problem.

I will never try to help anyone again because nobody actually listens.

Now now, Don't get discouraged, You gave him an actually helpful suggestion and now others are beginning to recognize it, You contributed and made things better, Rejoice.

85% of the time you make a stuffty suggestion or claim.

and when you DO make a good suggestion or claim, we just assume its stuffty just like the 85% of the time.

that's how the internet works with idiots.

Now now, This thread isn't about bashing on poor blockzillahead, It's about helping the original poster in cooperation.
