Its bubbagum. Assuming she's an idiot is the safest move.

I don't want to agree with her, but BubbaGum is right.
I had braces and now my mouth is a pit of scars. The wire ends are sharp and dig into your mouth. For the first couple months they mold and cut into your gums/inner lips. It sucks and is quite painful. Not to mention the plaster they use to keep the braces in place never fully comes off and causes tooth decay later. (But they don't tell you that now do they!) I swear to god, braces are the last legal torture. If you get the option GO INVISALIGN! No loving pain and you can take they on and off as you like.

As for the extractions, I'm sorry that you have to go through added misery before you have the braces put on.
I got lucky and did not need to have teeth pulled for them.
Don't know which dentist you go to, but my braces NEVER cut into my cheek, they only cut really bad into your gums if you don't brush good, and once, they had to take a bracket off after 1 month and NO RESIDUE AT ALL TO THIS DAY

ooooo feeling some tension in this one.

you do know that you can buy small sticks of dental wax to put over the wire ends if they bother you, right?

The wax bothered me more than dealing with the wires.
I just tucked them back around with a needle nose so the wire had no edge.

yes, and they'll fix your problem for almost a whole five minutes!

Here's what you need
-That gel that numbs mouth sores and stuff
-Ice cream or frozen desserts
-Pain relievers
-Really easy to eat food (mashed potaoes or baby food idk)

That will help reduce the stress for a bit

stress?
when i had two teeth pulled, nothing hurt when it was done.
in fact the doctor screwed up and left a chunk of tooth in there (is that a root cbrown town?) and i had to get it removed elsewhere, which also didn't hurt afterwards.

The tooth was snapped in half due to a collision with a badminton racket :s
that's what you get for playing games from the 1800s

Braces were a pain in the ass for me, I had to wear them for four years. Everytime they put a new wire on, I had them cut off the excess wire in the back so it didn't stab my cheeks.

Basically your tooth is no longer a living thing. :c
