Anyways, I think it might have been an evolution thing, like a chicken-like animal laid a grose egg and everything kind of developed from there. Maybe it was just a mutation or something, I don't know.

Probably the egg as I'm guessing the species the chicken mutated from laid eggs as well since pretty much all birds lay eggs and birds come from dinosaurs which most laid eggs so what it really comes down to is did the chicken mutate from an egg laying animal or a non egg laying animal and it's much much more likely it came from something that laid eggs.
