I'm using a GTX670, drivers are fully updated.
I'm using Tape's colour set in the picture but it still happens with default.
This only happens when I look at the brick from a certain place. It also changes in severity, sometimes it will be barely noticeable but at others it will be like this, any ideas anyone?

Probably a glitch with shaders. Good job for reporting it!

I replicated your scenario (thousands of bricks, a long thin brick in shadow) and was unable to get that same effect on the brick on any shader level, any viewing angle, and any FX paint or color. I have ATI Radeon HD 5870 v2 with latest drivers.
