being bricked psp is suffering

so i've decided the set out on a quest to unbrick it.
i tried out this video skeptically, and indeed, it didn't work. so then i decided that i would have to cave and buy a pandora. specifically this one.
any advice before i make my purchase? it's a 1000 phat, and i don't remember what firmware version.

bricked means it's useless because it doesn't work, called bricked because after it is bricked you are simply bound to store it somewhere
example : my wii was bricked due to an update
