Tried to mod mc with thaumcraft 3.0.3 and FML

Force update restores the jar, allowing you to make a clean install without messing up(if you did) previously.
Other than that, I wouldn't be saying that to the people I'm asking help from.

the mod he's trying to install, thaumcraft, isn't a mod you put in the minecraft.jar, and it's not a problem with forge because he's stated that it works without thaumcraft installed, so force updating wouldn't do anything.
try updating java. i read in a forge tutorial that modmakers and mod users have to have the same version, assuming thaumcraft's creator was on java 7. you're on java 6.

strange in 1.3.1 i played with metal urgy no probs when i installed it
Edit i updated Java and it's still broke.

Quick checklist:
Did you delete Meta-inf?
Did you put thaumcraft inside te jar? (DON'T DO THIS)
Did you run the game before you installed Thaumcraft? (After installing forge)
