| Why are Civil war games so widely ignored by game makers? |

Same reason as no real WWI games: it's just lines of troops firing and dying. There's no real "line" to follow. Unless it was done as an RTS, then that'd be fun. A WWI RTS in the style of Company of Heroes would be cool. |

Do you honestly think that a game where your rifle takes 30 seconds to load would be fun? Even a WW1 game would suck, because it mainly consisted of running at your enemy until the machine gunner kills enough of your guys to warrant a retreat, mustard gas, and getting shelled. |
