Why are Civil war games so widely ignored by game makers?

AFAIK there's a campaign for civ4 which lets you play the civil war iirc


also there WAS a were several civil war RTS iirc, but again political correctness killed it. Something about fighting for the oppression of black men sort of killed their sales

There is a North and South mod for Warband which is the actual Civil War mod for Mount and Blade. Napoleonic Wars is just the Napoleonic Wars.

Mount & Blade: Napoleonic Wars does manage to do a decent job at it.
But, I do agree that it's not as fast-paced as games with automatic or semi-automatic weapons. But there is also an appeal to that sort of warfare for numerous people. Myself and OP included.

I'm talking real time, also AoEIII was more colonial-era based.
