what's wrong with roleplaying? if someone wants to roleplay as a totalitarian xenophobic empire online, why is that so bad? are you seriously trying to get mad at someone for "taking something seriously" when it's the internet and it only takes a few seconds to actually do something like that?
obsessive is a buzz word. it's the forgetin' internet where typing something out takes less than 15 seconds. anything less than a 5 page scholarly essay on why your race is so much better isn't obsessive.
point i'm trying to make is that most video games are escapism, including starbound. it's good to roleplay because it's over the loving internet, and it's fun to pretend you're something more exciting than real life. qwepir isn't going to go to your house and bust a cap in your ass just because you like bird-brains, smart-weeds, or filets-o-fish, over a video game. it's just words.
