From what I've seen, character creation doesn't really seem that full of variety. I haven't really seen anything other than grey, grey, and a little blue.
Also, "Craft the video-game character of your dreams"? What if I want to be a robot, or a cartoony anthropomorphic animal? (This is only an example, guys) Sure, I would still try this out if we could only play human, but from what I've seen so far, they just need to show us some more variety.

it's true though, when they say "ooh look at how you can vomit coal light it on fire and make a tornado" i'm sitting here thinking "yeah but can i be a technomancer and sabotage people's guns or start up a parked car from a safe distance and run down some people because thats what i really want to be doing"
