"FPS Absurdity" and the reason why genres based on presentation need to go.
Shell:
not unreliable, i don't think you know what unreliable means
it just allows for more exploration when you want to try something new, because it's so diverse and easy to find something interesting.
same goes for rpgs.

I is unreliable, the line between what is an FPS and what isn't is so blurred you could say that Wii sports is an FPS because it has archery. Asking for an FPS is like walking into a library and asking for a book that's hard bound, it's not differentiating on anything other than how the game is presented.
Shell:
um, sa hard bound book is so vague that it is ridiculous
being vague is important sometimes but if you do that, it's like asking for sa game where you can move
wii sports is not an fps because it does not focus on shooting things until they stop moving, it is a based on sports, and having one event where you shoot things (not until they stop moving, i might add) does not make it a game of that genre. assassin's creed 3 is not an rts, but it has one mission where you command troops in a war. when someone is looking for sa game, they look on what it's based on, not on one small part of the game is about.
i apologize for saying sa instead of a, this phone is ridiculous
fred da kiko:
Portal's main focus is puzzles, but it is still an FPS because it is in first person and involves shooting.
Shell:
no it's not. It is a puzzle game and nothing more.
