Pre-Ordering Games, or: How The Bad Practices of the Gaming Industry Are Winning
<< < (4/10) > >>
PJ Boy:
Only game I ever preordered was Super Smash Bros. Brawl roughly nine full months in advance. The reason why I did that was to avoid the inevitable "Out of Stock" problem with Gamestop, and I *really* wanted the game.

On just the notion of preordering with extra game content is rather bullstuff. It's just dumb and promotes bad business practice.
Awdax:
forget the pre-orders that give you extra stuff. It screws over the people who want to wait before they buy it, and they miss out on content that should have been in the game.

But pre-orders in general, it's practically the same as putting $60 aside and not touching it until you go and buy the game. With the added convenience that it will be delivered to you the day of release, or a copy is held at your local store.

And his tagline is the Cynical Brit. He markets his opinion as that of an overly cynical starfish.

i have to disagree, I may be cynical, but I don't judge games on their options menu.

It's a first impression. The options menu is a big part of that. Plus, would you rather have an options menu like Borderlands 2 or Dark Souls?
tikitai:
