Author Topic: Captial punishment, good or bad?  (Read 13917 times)

Being an option gets rid of half it's point
What is the point of condemning them if not for permanently excluding them from society?

Is it revenge? There is no lesson to be taught to them if they are deceased. More or less the fact that you did the same crime unto them as they did onto you.

Some people never learn, haven't you learned that by now // your not doing the same crime, your punishing them for committing a horrible crime

Either way, they are both secluded from society, at least they have the ability to live in prison.
If you take a life you shouldn't be allowed to live your own. Talking about in cold blood btw.

No one deserves to die for the sake of revenge. In our society, crimes are committed against the state. Crimes are not personal. If you want someone dead because they killed someone close to you, that's no different than eye for an eye, barbaric punishment.

Also atlas, stop being a loving starfish. Just because someone's opinion differs from you, doesn't mean they're sheltered "kiddies".

Don't worry, someone already told him to be polite and debate properly, I think he has withdrew.

That's a strong opinion and I see your perspective, but that would only encourage more death.

No, I cannot see it in that perspective, I see it as revenge, if they were to murder someone or something that was important to you, you would only be doing the same crime unto them. Besides the point, I really don't feel a man has the right to condemn a fellow man at that, but let that be determined but a higher force.

I agree.

It's moral and common sense that you should not kill someone for idiotic reasons. and if you do you will be harshly punished by the government.

Really, these moronic hippys should stop clinging onto every life as its perfect, no life is perfect and some I wouldn't mind calling trash to their face. Of course if you are mentally insane that's a different story, they are not aware of what they are doing.

Are you calling us moronic hippies or someone else...?

Depends, are you the one saying we should kill other people because we're doing the same to them as they did to others?

No, I'm saying we shouldn't. And even if I was, you still should be civil and not insult people for having an opinion such as this, I wanted this to be a moderated debate that's fair and lets everyone speak freely without being judged.

I'm a bit tired, gonna go play Halo 4, catch me on Xbox Live at Bothell Warrior.

Great discussion guys, I thought it went well other than a few mild problems.

Night.

That never happens in debates, not even presidential debates

They're safety measures to prevent the same thing from happening again. Putting them in a dungeon will just give them a slight chance of escaping and doing it again. They may also get angrier. Keeping them there also takes resources. (As been said.) The problem with some is that even if you kill them, they'll probably walk the Earth until one has vanquished their soul to the void.

Some who kill don't even get satisfaction, they just do it because they're crazy/unable to control their bodies!

Because debates are classified as battles of arguments. What he'd be looking for is a "discussion".

skimming the article, he was executed for killing his ex-girlfriend in a prank.
while he was on effects on drug with the intent to kill...

i can understand the government killing someone for raping and killing 17 women and escaping from jail three times

but after five years after he is convicted, they just suddenly want to execute him for killing one person
like wtf

I just read the article, I actually felt bad for the guy who got convicted, a perfect example of execution in revenge.

Again, you stick to rudimentary name calling to get your point across. How do you expect anyone to take you seriously when you slander others with different opinions than you?

if you end an innocent life you deserve to die
