Can someone please point me towards some free software like Paint accept i can make the backround image clear (Invisible), like the good avatars here on the forums. You know what i mean?

No get paint.net its easier to install plugins, and doesn't run heavily on your computer like gimp does.
It also doesn't have 2 damn loading bars like gimp.
