People seem to be confused, EA is a publisher, not a developer. They buy developers and control their output so they can make money. See Maxis, Bioware, etc.

if we're talking about BF3, for example, the game had plenty of stuff to begin with, and the DLC is priced fine, and they even went as far as to let you get them all for less than it would cost separately
plus, it's a good game
