EA In A Nutshell

if we're talking about BF3, for example, the game had plenty of stuff to begin with, and the DLC is priced fine, and they even went as far as to let you get them all for less than it would cost separately
plus, it's a good game

Back in the day with Battlefield 1942 you could buy expansion packs for 19.99 and you got 6-8 news maps, new vehicles, new factions, and new weapons. Today the average dlc is around 24 USD and you get a few new guns and somewhere around four maps, whereas expansion packs had the content of a game and were just addons.
--- Quote from: Irishbandit on February 24, 2013, 02:32:10 AM ---People seem to be confused, EA is a publisher, not a developer. They buy developers and control their output so they can make money. See Maxis, Bioware, etc.

As you know they buy publishers and tell them what to do. They give developers deadlines which leads to rushed products that aren't good. They are planning on making people buy digital ammo for their games as another level of nickel and dimeing.

Congratulations everyone who responded to Kaiiu after it became obvious he was attempting to de-rail the topic and cause anger. Successful troll is successful.

You might want to redirect your anger to this publisher.
EA is only mentioned once on A:CM's Wikipedia page and that was for publishing the original 2001 game that was canceled shortly after development began.

ckt is really really hungry for some drama, i can tell from reading his rediculous posts in this thread
ea is a publisher, not a studio for gods sake
bf3 is the only ea game ive payed full price for in awhile because i was a fan of the series and ive sunk in more than enough hours in the game to merit the purchase
TeslaCoil:
As wrong as it was for EA to pay off IGN for good reviews, there is still some major fault in the consumer for buying the product blindly without looking. We do not completely survive off of one game reviewer. The idea is to keep your eyes open. It's not that the profit is completely undeserved, its just that you payed for a game without thinking of the consequences, whether the game was going to be good or bad. That's why I usually wait until a game is completely released or has circulated through the consumer base.
I still dislike EA a whole lot in the end. Experience has taught me to watch out for flops.
