Is there anything that we can actually do about this? The government won't help because the corporations own the government.
Or maybe the government won't help because stealing is illegal and hurts everyone but the thief?

do i have to pay for a vpn?

do i have to pay for a vpn?

you might not need to do that

i found this program called "Tor" that's supposedly like torrents but with protection - it relies on other users somehow but i'm not entirely sure what this even is

i'll try it out and report back with results. it's free/open source btw.

It is a browser with built in proxies and other utilities.

Also, I'm pretty sure Comcast already does what is described in the OP.

tor is pretty legit

people use it to buy copious amounts of drugs/weapons and they also buy assassinations with it

using Silkroad of course

i have no idea what

so if you are suspected of downloading illegal things the government punches your internet in the richard or something?

No, your ISPs do.

No, your ISPs do.
I'm pretty sure I have AT&T, so I'm guessing they are going to try to do that. I mean I'm pretty sure I don't download illegal stuff so it most likely wont be a problem.

ok so Tor is pretty dope

i'd recommend that

at&t already throttles when they suspect illegal downloading
so does comcast, for that matter
all this'll do is make it more obvious

It's bullstuff that they get to do this stuff whenever they "suspect" it. We the downloaders are considered to be "Guilty unless proven innocent". I really don't think we should have to spend hours and hours of time trying to get stuff reversed if they have no proof that we did a goddamn thing wrong.
