| Why do I have to be on the internet to be on Steam's offline mode? |

It always works for me, I just open steam without a connection, click play and boom offline games. and steam is DRM lol |

For me I've only needed offline mode when I'm actually away from a good internet connection (i.e. school, cafe, etc.). Just disable your internet when launching Steam, assuming your games are up-to-date/downloaded 100% and you have your account credentials saved. Bam, offline mode. That's how I do it. |

For me, I always have to open Steam when I have internet connection, then let the computer go into hibernation, then resume it later when I need it and have no internet connection. |
