Maybe edit the Brick respawn timer to 0.1 seconds or so so the brick respawns quickly?

Yeah, if you go in Slayer and set the brick respawn time to 0 then it will have the same effect basically.

EDIT: Just restarted the server, installed drop item on death and made the brick respawn time 1 (can't disable it).
