Have you ever shown your family some of the videos on Misophonia? My family became a lot more considerate about how they eat when they realized I actually had a legit problem, lol

i highly doubt this is a real condition or anything.
like i said, you guys probably just have a low tolerance for the noises and things people do.
Psycho, this is a real thing. I'm dead serious
Sharp 'S's, 'T's, any sort of audible chewing, sounds that just plain aren't annoying irritate the crap out of me. You know when you get tickled around your neck? It feels like it's those nerves that are irked when I'm triggered. I'm a very tolerant person in most things people do except these triggers.

Am i the only one that actually enjoys the sounds of a bustling city (horns, sirens, cars moving, people in the hotel) when I'm in a place like NYC?

it isn't, and i refuse to believe it is. you don't have brain damage if you're annoyed by certain sounds other people make.

You're not alone, honey.

I'm with psychomutt. Brain damage and something you dislike hearing are NOT directly linked.

I hate the sound of of styrofoam rubbing together and the sound of white shooes squeeking against smooth floors.

This is a mental condition. Mental conditions are not linked to brain damage.

That isn't unusual. This is a hatred of commonplace sounds.

This bothers me too. Snapping gum is the worst to me

#1. I had some kid behind me in calculus loving pulverizing a piece of gum, with his mouth open, as loudly as possible for 80 minutes every other day. I wanted his head to explode.

Yeah I guess I used the wrong wording when I said "brain damage," but it is a mental condition. It is way more than just "disliking a sound."

Omg I hate noises SOO much.
Some things include: This one kid in my American Studies class who ALWAYS has food and chew so loudly.
People in band who flick their spit valves OH GOD. I've had to interrupt class twice, and one of them was last week.
Whenever it takes people a long long time to say a word or two in a sentence because they are chewing food.

My family is like 'I don't give a forget, just ignore it'

it isn't a mental condition. like really, do you actually believe that?

"I DON'T LIKE THIS NOISE SO I WANT ALL OF YOU TO CHANGE FOR ME. ME ME ME."

"I DON'T LIKE THIS NOISE SO I WANT ALL OF YOU TO CHANGE FOR ME. ME ME ME."
"I DON'T LIKE IT WHEN YOU MAKE THIS NOISE A LOT AND IT MAKES ME WANT TO STRANGLE YOU, A LOT"

"I DON'T LIKE THIS NOISE SO I WANT ALL OF YOU TO CHANGE FOR ME. ME ME ME."
believe me if you had any strain of this you would know buddy

crunching makes me bite myself in rage (stupid i know) sometimes yell at my parents, kick a wall
