If we could pay for mods, then we could have nicer mods and there would be more incentives for people to work harder to creater better things.actually
since no one would pay crap for add ons, there would be a lack of addons period since people won't pay for them, leading to a lack of addons entirly.

Does anyone seriously think that vanilla Blockland was better then having Retail blockland? I also doubt that Badspot would have made retail blockland for free...no he didn't, retail blockland costs 20 bucks crap damnit
well actually he could've originally made retail for free but i dunno

Also, not all mods would cost money.then whats the point of getting this expensive addon if we could just get this nice FREE addon
what is even the point

since you edited lets carry on

--- Quote from: Gartanium on March 03, 2013, 08:57:00 PM ---The intresting thing about software is that even though people can make money off of things, there is also free software (such as paint.net). Free software is not often as nice as pay to use software. (Paint.net vs Adobe's PhotoShop).however it depends on the quality of the software itself

On the issue of all servers being pay to play: Well uh, they don't have to be. The option would be there for people to charge money to play on their server. People would be like, oh hey, no ones comming on my server, well ok I'm not going to charge a price then.in that case all the servers wouldn't have a price period

But then there will be the fun servers (Like mr.Wallets servers) where people will be like "I want to play O:, here take monies and let me play on your server!!!!!one#@!!one!!".whos mr wallet
also who the hell would know if a server is good before they go on it
your taking a huge gamble and if that server sucks
waste of money

Just because yall wouldn't pay money for nice things, doesn't mean that others wont.
those are what i call "suckers" like those "pay to win" games
its like minecraft all over again, with all their "vips" and "perks" that practically gets you a win pass

for me, blockland is a game where you just join and play without a care,
with none of those "whitelist things" NOBOT or having to pay for anything other than the game itself
also how much money is going to be charged period
it better not be more than $0.00

forgive my jerkiness but i really hate this idea

Its ok we all have our own opinions, and if thats how you feel that the game would be like if people could charge for addons, you should share :P.

If no one would pay crap for addons, then no one would sell them. It wouldn't create a lack of addons, just a lack of addons for sale. Its like how people post Youtube videos for free, but other people require subscriptions (Cable, satelite, subscriptions to websites, etc.) in order to pay for videos.

The addons that are easy to create would be free, while the harder ones, the ones requiring more creativity and or time, would cost money if the creators so wished.

The point of a blockland mod market system would be to create incentives for talented developers to make nice things that we can give monies for. Believe it or not, people need to make a living when they are adults, and don't always have the free time to dedicate 7+ hours a day on a product.

If all nice things were free, no one would make nice things.
Shell:
This is a ridiculous idea.

someone needs to gegt the addon first by buying it
and no way am i spending money for one addon to give to everyone
better idea is to make it not worth anything

If no one would pay crap for addons, then no one would sell them. It wouldn't create a lack of addons, just a lack of addons for sale.yes
thats good Its like how people post Youtube videos for free, but other people require subscriptions (Cable, satelite, subscriptions to websites, etc.) in order to pay for videos.how in hell do they need to pay for they're own videos
for example, look at pecons server
it uses i believe a PAID dedicated server
he's actually doing a work of love or something, because he's spending for our enjoyment, and he's not having a "you gotta pay to play" thing

The addons that are easy to create would be free, while the harder ones, the ones requiring more creativity and or time, would cost money if the creators so wished.well thats if the creator wants his addons to not be used

The point of a blockland mod market system would be to create incentives for talented developers to make nice things that we can give monies for. Believe it or not, people need to make a living when they are adults, and don't always have the free time to dedicate 7+ hours a day on a product.there are other better ways to do that instead of charging money for addons, and you never know if they actually do have free time of 7+ hours

If all nice things were free, no one would make nice things.if all good things were expensive, no one would make good things either

--- End quote ---
all in all
paying for addons and joining a server sucks, will not get any downloads or players, and will never catch on

pecons server is a good example of a person paying for our enjoyment, but not having a "pay to play" thing
