Author Topic: Anyone here good at identifying spiders? (Arachnophobia img warning)  (Read 2966 times)

I like arachnids and insects and such and live in an area populated with many of both. Through living I've picked up many names of various centi-beings, but because of the uncountable number of different species, I can't name these two spiders I've found.

This first one was found in my room, very good a climbing, better than the next spider. Pretty fast. Through basic research I'm guessing it's some form of wolf spider but I'm not entirely sure. Seemingly passive.

This second one I found in my bathroom. Not good at climbing. Very fast. Seemed aggressive. Through more basic research I'm thinking it could be a running spider?

Side note: I did not see any webs that went with either spider.
Additional info: I live in southern California

I came, I saw, I loving cringed

First one looks like a grass spider.

Second one I believe is in a species/type of spider known as "Anachemmis spp." or "Titiotus spp."

Neither are dangerous, atleast not to humans.

all the spiders here are tiny, I'd kill myself if anything like that was running around

They look friendly, pick them up with a napkin if you feel uncomfortable picking them up with your fingers and put them outside (If they are house spiders they will die outside but they don't look like house spiders.)

I hate spiders.

Good luck.

dont just smash them (you know who you are), scoop them up in a bag of chips or something and take them outside

I will never approach your general location. Ever.

The first looks like a Tartantula. Don't worry the Brown Recluse has a cousin species that isn't as deadly that lives on the west coast. Get a swatter or something long and attempt to scoop it up and take it outside.

You know, if you just leave it there, it will crawl in your ear at night, lay eggs and then climb up your richard hole and you will turn into a spider.

I've alerted a army of Pyros to purify your house
