PS3 has the most active player base but it has some stuffty bugs, I can't remember any right now but I can remember atleast 3 that can happen that ruin a playthrough.
PC has lots of people but the most hackers/modders and it's Games For Windows Live so the multiplayer service blows.
Xbox has the lowest playerbase, it's known for having the most starfish-like community but the least cheaters.

Oh god, really? Gives me reason to get my PS3 fixed. I absolutely loved Demon's Souls, I thought they took the servers down. Thanks for telling me!
I actually really like the Xbox community. While there ARE starfishs, I almost always set up times to play with fellow players on /r/darksoulshelp, and they never end up being richards. There's also a pretty large Onebros community, which is nice, as that's currently my favorite character. I still plan on buying it for the PC though.
