You probably didn't do any math to realize that's not often the case.
To be honest, no. I didn't.
If anyone can present something that shows Bitcoin worth is outweighing the cost of power consumption, I may get back into mining.

I think I have 0.016 from some time ago.

I'm afraid of overheating.

I mined off and on while I would normally be using my computer for about a month. I created 5 bitcoins that is 218.62 dollars. way more than my power bill.

Holy stuff.

I'm only allowed two hours a day on the computer during the week, so if I did this overnight, while I'm at school, and after my two hours... I could make so much money! And that's also not mentioning the time while I'm grounded....

loving epic! I'm so happy to hear that being grounded will benefit me now.

I gotta set me up some bitcoin tomorrow.

Leave a bunch of computers someplace like a hotel or something to mine bitcoins, then sell the worthless things to idiots. Bitcoins are about as valuable as Videogame currency, since it's not backed by anything.

But at the same time, isn't that kind of why they're valuable? Bitcoins live because people will buy them. People will buy them because they can then sell them. It's like a never ending loop. If I'm understanding this correctly...

What's the purpose of a bitcoin?

to buy drugs, guns, and child research over the hidden web without using names or money paper trails.

Yeah, but the day that someone doesn't accept the thing they will crash. Money is supposed to be based on a finite resource, giving it value. If you falsely make a resource finite, it only has value until someone decides not to accept it.

the answer to everyone's problems

give everyone infinite money

You don't need to instantly start off with a wallet.
You can mine without a wallet. Once your miner has some stuff, transfer it to a wallet.

A good miner is BitMinter

how do I get the miner

what is the miner

how do I do

edit 0.44 Bitcoins a day!

So you get free money from sleeping... Does it mess up your computer? What are the Pros and Cons?
