I always thought the suppression field would just "suppress" the urge to reproduce rather than technically stopping impregnation.

black mesa also created the tau cannon and reactor, a suit which makes the user invincible from all forms of harm (gordon still takes damage because the suit is incomplete without the helmet), a functioning teleporter and even survived certain apocalypse. twice.
