Applications are supposed to be short and pointed. A report is also short and pointed. Neither of those should be in a standard essay format because essays, at least the way they teach you in school, are long, repetitive, and verbose.

In school they teach people to write essays where they state topics in the intro, in the beginning of every paragraph, and in the conclusion. This has nothing to do with the way I right.

Sure, later on they teach you how to right better essays, but a detailed list will always be a better way to get important information across.

Loads of useful things are made solely of lists. Loads of other useful things are made of paragraphs but do not resemble any essay I have been instructed to write in school.
