DayZ Mega thread!What is DayZ? Only one of the finest ArmA: 2 OA mods. DayZ is also being developed as a standalone game that (Should) be released mid-late 2013. Information regarding the Standalone will be found at the bottom of the post along with the most recent version, the change log, a link to DayZCommander, a link to the DayZ dev blog, and a loot map. DayZ is a zombie survival mod for the game ArmA: 2 that also requires you to have ArmA: 2 Operation Arrowhead in order to play. After downloading both games you can install it using DayZCommander or SixUpdater. (I prefer Commander.) The main purpose is to survive. You will encounter 'hero's' and 'bandits'. A bandit is a player that is not friendly and likes to shoot on sight, while a hero will go out of his way to help you and protect you. You will also encounter zombies. Zombies are nothing compared to bandits because they have to walk indoors, and also won't hit you if you keep running. You need to find food (canned or cooked) and drink (Soda or water). You also need to find guns, equipment, and vehicles. Finding a camping tent is a good idea if you plan on playing on a server for a while with/without friends. Cars can need repairs, you can starve, and you can be easily slaughtered without a gun along with some ammunition. You need a hatchet, box of matches, and a hunting knife to kill animals for food. You should also look into getting a water bottle since they are refillable. Whether you decide to go full on bandit, neutral, or a hero, you will have a difficult time staying alive. tried playing a couple matches, i always got killed from some imaginary land and once i stumbled down a highway with a black and white screen constantly shaking after i took morphine, pills, steak and some other stuff and eventually crawled feebly to my death. the end. |

yea the 4 matches of dayz i joined were pitiful so i play wasteland mostly like dayz but with other players and more vehicles / guns |
