Author Topic: Is this still Pirating?  (Read 1185 times)

yes that is 100% morally and legally piracy

you bought a physical disc and lost it and therefore you have to either buy it or find it

no company should have to replace something you lost

no company should have to replace something you lost
That's an opinion.

Honestly, it'd be easier for both sides to just download it. The company doesn't need to replace anything; the user doesn't have to request a replacement disc and wait for it to arrive.

"hello dodge? i bought a car from you guys and i can't find it, replace it."

Read the topic, we're past this. Though in response to your statement, you're right. A company should not be obligated to replace something a consumer lost or otherwise rendered unusable, but it would be in the best interests of them to provide something that is of no cost to them (besides hosting) for those unfortunate.

I'm not justifying me losing it, but it's basically an industry standard to host game installers online.

That's a ridiculous argument and you know it. A car has lots of materials and work put into it, where software can be replicated in seconds at no cost.

it costs money to replace a disc for the game

it's a fine argument because even if you lose something unless it's the company's fault they shouldn't have to repay you for something YOU lost in the first place.

lol I'm not asking for a replacement disc, I'm just asking for them to help with authentication of a product that they claim is supported but isn't functioning properly for me.

The topic has progressed since the OP.

Well, It appears as if I am most of the way through customer support, and I can safely say that so far I've had only good things to say about their customer support once I can actually talk with someone. I basically gave him my Key, and verified my account and they are going to add the game to my account manually.

10/10 I would not expect this level of service from EA.

Wow, sounds like they actually did good.

Yes they did, the guy was super helpful and he successfully transferred the game to my account.

Waiting an hour for that kind of customer service is greatly justified.
