Chrome or Safari?

keyword here, sure they can both do the job, but again, safari just looks absolutely loving terrible to chrome

i literally cannot use safari at all. the top bar or whatever the hell it's called is incredibly cluttered and takes up way more webpage space than chrome. the silver look of it doesn't help either - they definitely tried to make it look nice, shiny and to pop out, but it's fallen within the uncanny valley between simplicity and complexity.
The chrome top bar is one pixel taller than the safari top bar, and they both use the same colors. the only thing different between the two is that there are a few more icons on the left, there's a google search bar, and chrome shows the tab's icons.

i don't know where this came from, but i don't do this. i try to support other browsers, and since safari and chrome both use webkit, they're usually under the same umbrella of html5/javascript support and features.
Usually when i do stuff there's always that one browser that doesn't support what i'm doing, usually IE because IE barely supports anything, but when it's a main browser like firefox, safari, or chrome i usually find some work around to do all the pretty stuff i want with unnecessary bullstuff.
again when people go in a thread and say C when the OP asked for A or B

honestly, most of this is just completely subjective, and to me, the top bar simply looks a lot more cluttered than it should. probably mostly because of the unnecessary google search field, where you could just type it in the url bar. the shiny look is too gray, it should either be more white or more black. it just doesn't look good to me.

i would imagine that safari's interface is customizable. though chrome already looks nice, simple, and clean right out of the box, and doesn't need to be changed, unlike safari and firefox's vanilla appearances, so that's a plus. a theme change is all you would really need, and extensions/add-ons are a given for any browser.

for the record, chrome doesn't only show the tab's icons, that's only for pinned tabs.

Chrome all the way, though if you have a computer that can't handle multiple processes I would go with Firefox.

It's superior to Safari in every way; it has better support for web standards, is faster and has support for add-ons. There's no reason at all to stick to Safari.
