Author Topic: Do I need another Source SDK on my extra SteamApp folder in D: to play source?  (Read 561 times)

My current [C:] drive is full and I put another SteamApp folder on my [D:] Drive (Basically just extra data storage for PC)

If I already have source sdk in my steam folder, will i need to download it again to play a source game like Portal (In this case, Black Mesa) on my D: Drive?

I believe all Steam games need to be installed to the same folder.

You can install Steam games anywhere you want.
However, I know nothing about having multiple steamapp folders.

you only need sdk for mods and not actual games like portals

yeah but whats he saying is he wants to install source games to his other drive, because you currently cant select to install sources games to another drive.

Until Source 2009 and below games are ported onto steampipe, you can't put them anywhere but your steam folder.
