Transparent Avatars

For my Forums Avatar, I use Paint.NET. I paint everything transparent and draw on it, but when I upload it
as my forums avatar, it's black.
How make transparent?

I think it has to be 75x75 exactly.

Nah, I've seen 75 (Or less) wide by 75 (Or less) wide avatars before.
