which uses cartridges

--- End quote ---

Right, Forgot about those because I haven't used a DS in ages...

Linkusofepica:

It won't matter to me until a year before the Xbox after the Durango is released.

Momentum:

hard drives can fail sooner than other more reliable sources of storage, so when it fails, you get to buy a whole new hard drive from Microsoft.

--- Quote from: Quote Story on March 21, 2013, 08:17:23 AM ---I think it is a nice feature. If you lose the disk, you could still play the game.

--- End quote ---

wrong. the disk has to be in the disk drive to play. it's this way on x360 and will be the same for durango. while durango (apparently) does not support playing from the disc you are still going to need to put the disk in the drive

--- Quote from: Quote Story on March 21, 2013, 08:17:23 AM ---Why use a disk? Why not a cartridge? Can you even you a cartridge? Why not something like a usb? so many

--- End quote ---

cartridges are old and disks make more sense for consoles these days. putting games on a USB and selling them is more expensive than just a disk and also stupid.

--- Quote from: Quote Story on March 21, 2013, 08:17:23 AM ---Their reasoning is that you can basically buy a game at a cheaper price with (almost) the same quality

--- End quote ---

their reasoning is that when you buy used, none of the money goes back to the publisher/devs

BuildaBox:

I think it's a good thing to make used games impossible to play. I was against it at first, but then I got thinking...

No used games = More people buy new
More people buy new = More money for devs
More money for devs = Happy devs
Happy devs = Lower prices for games
Lower prices for games = Frowned upon $60 release
Frowned upon $60 release = All games cost less
All games cost less = Games affordable for all
Games affordable for all = More purchases
More purchases = More motivation to make quality games
More motivation to make quality games = Quality games
