I am not asking for the current shadows to be able to be baked at will. Not only will this give better performance for servers such as speedkart servers and deathmatches it also introduces shadows as a game mechanic. |

No, not as a game mechanic, because baked shadows only affect objects that wont ever be changed. This is why only interiors and terrain had shadows. You can't even use 'baking shadows into bricks in minigames like speedkart' because if any brick is fakekilled or changes color, it will need to update shadows. |
