Well stuff, I accidentally bought Bioshock Infinite.

It looks pretty neat and stuff, but I feel bad because I spent my money for his birthday on myself on accident :(

This. I guarantee if you talk to Steam support and explain the situation, they'll take it off of your account and add it back to your gifts.
