Author Topic: Furdle's Eurofighter Typhoon and Harrier Jump Jet [vehicle research]  (Read 7230 times)

To start off this topic, I would like to explain that I am going to make a Eurofighter Typhoon (EF-2000) with an Aircraft Carrier.
Inspiration was from: http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=227242.0
Im starting with just the Jet, Eurofighter Typhoon (EF-2000)

So this is the aircraft I am replicating.

This took a total of 5 hours to research and build.

Incredibly detailed.

Incredibly detailed.
I left it quite vague as I don't know much about the subject.
I will do my own research as well as finding information from the community.

British carriers usually have ramps at the end of their launch decks. This is because the thrust generated by the launch catapult isn't quite enough to get the jet into the air fast enough so the ramp gives the plane time to catch up.

Afaik the Royal Navy still uses harrier jumpjets, but I know they're switching to the f35 lightning II soon. Look up those for inspiration. Best of luck.

But I would like to build some jets to place ontop of the carrier.
Since I'm british, I want to make a british carrier with british jets, but I dont know much about jets or carriers, so I am asking forums.
<3 lol.

Well, to start, some British Carriers have curved flight decks specifically for the Harrier Jet, so you can do one with a curved deck and harriers.

Thanks comrade,
I've narrowed it down to 2 fighter jets...

Eurofighter

Tornado

My brother is currently on his last year of commercial pilot training, so he knows a lot about aircraft, he said these are the two jets that the British Royal Air Force use.

RAF =/= Royal Navy. The royal navy has it's own aviation branch because their carriers are not large enough to accomodate the eurofighter nor the tornado

but, I'd like to see a eurofighter made

nvm

however i did a little bit of extra research and found that the last ski-jump carrier operated by the royal navy is being decommissioned within the next year, and that the next carrier to be fielded by the royal navy will be reminiscient to the US Nimitz-class carriers

just thought that would help

Yeah, its something about the Falklands, they need the ships if there is going to be a civil war again in the Falklands or something like that.

Bump with pictures of the build! Only took 5 hours total to make :D

THOSE HORIZONTAL CYLINDERS

WHERE AA I NEED THEM
