Peer Viewable Client Side Faces and Decals

Other players really need to be able to view the faces and decals that players have downloaded and are currently wearing. Even if it's implemented in a way that you have to rejoin the server when you change your character's appearance to another custom face/decal to allow others to see it. These aren't very large files, I don't think that it should be a problem to upload them either to Amazon's cloud services or to the server host directly (who could disable custom faces and decals server-side). An argument could be made around the fact that people would start wearing obscene things, though there could be an option to turn off viewing custom faces/decals which would be enabled by default for a vanilla client. The Faces/Decals/Prints section sucks and I really think that a better group of people would form around it if such a thing were to be implemented because it actually legitimizes donning good attire.
Other than the obscene possibility, I can't think of any argument against this. Thoughts?

I was thinking more about shock images like goatse etc. It's not a problem as much in Minecraft because the player skins are so low-res.
