Author Topic: What are some good and cheap dedicated Blockland hosting providers?  (Read 1511 times)

Hosting is a service.
Most services in this world cost money, and $6 is a rather cheap one.
It's not like software or code; these services need costly server rentals to run with large capacities. I may release some code in the future for free.

That'd be nice of you.

however I find it hard to think that someone putting that amount of effort into something wouldn't want anything in return other than to tromp on Kalphiter.

I kind of have a history of putting a lot of work into things solely for the benefit of the community while wanting nothing in return. In this case I wanted to provide a reliable trustworthy cheap dedicated hosting option for the community - which I did spectacularly well.

Ephialtes claims RTB hosting makes no profit what-so-ever, and I have no reason to doubt him, however I find it hard to think that someone putting that amount of effort into something wouldn't want anything in return other than to tromp on Kalphiter.

I find it very hard to believe how you think Ephialtes doesn't make a profit.

Well, just because you did it for free doesn't mean you weren't able to exert it as a status of power...

Well that's good enough for me, I guess you aren't like 90% of the community itself, excuse me.

Shut up you twat.
90% of the world isn't going to hand out something that costs them money to people for free.

That is a VERY trustworthy hosting service that is what runs my server but currently they have a max of clients right now.

I'm not asking for something that's free you mindless fool.
Hence, that's why I said cheap.

I was replying to your quote forgetstick, not the topic.

$6 is extremely cheap
trust me

$6 is cheap as hell, doesn't your friend get lunch money? All he has to do is save a dollar or so a couple days each week and bam $6. RTB and Kaphost are good hosts and cheap as forget, espicially when you look at other hosting services for other games such as Minecraft...they cost more and don't even give as much memory as Blockland hosting services provide (excluding the planes that go over 1gb).

If you can't afford $6 then you might as well just give up or host at home because that is most likely as cheap as it will get.

Well, the main reason for that is because Blockland is small enough that memory usage is concentrated on very few Blockland servers.

The only reason RTB hosting can provide such a fantastic service on a premium network for such a cheap price is because of a lot of research and effort. $6 a month is an absolute steal for unmetered game server hosting in New York, I doubt any other game hosting provider for any game offers such rates combined with the amazing management features.
