Author Topic: Letter to Steam Greenlight Staff - Godspeed, letter!  (Read 7082 times)

I dont know what to say! Really. It's awesome!

isnt the greenlight system done by votes or likes, or whatever they call it?

wouldnt begging them with a letter be kinda pointless since they wouldnt just abandon their own rules?

In the previous months some games seemed to get picked that weren't in the top 10, or even the top 50.

Regardless though any bit helps, so thanks for writing this.

I hope Valve will read this and make this game greenlit. This is the only game I played like no other.

This game literally gave me my hobby, my career and my life plan.

It deserves to be greenlit ($)20 times over.

The forums taught me maturity even in its forgeted up way. I watched mostly, and learned.
Without Blockland I wouldn't know how to internet and I probably wouldnt be such a geek.

The only change I've really made so far is this little addition to the conclusion:

I strongly urge you to visit the Blockland page on Greenlight and to seriously consider its addition to the Steam store. You can select games that are merely a passing source of entertainment, or you can choose a game that has touched lives, inspired careers, and created dreams. The choice is yours, but I ask you on behalf of the Blockland community to help us inspire a new generation of Blocklanders. Thank you.

I'm hesitant to make larger changes and mess up the flow of the letter. Thoughts? Ready to mail?

I agree.

That was a very persuasive letter, I applaud you.

seems a little unnecessary and might frankly be seen as childish naivete by them
everything else seems fine

That's what I've been thinking while I re-read it over and over.

This seems to sound better, just removing it:

Roughly six years ago, I was shown a game called Blockland by a friend, who encouraged me to buy it. Shortly thereafter, I fell in love with the game, and began to create add-ons and modifications for its community. This was the springboard of an entirely new direction in the course of my life, inspiring me to change my choice of career, improving my relationships with others, and changing my entire outlook on the world. Blockland was the flame that lit a fiery passion for programming in me, the same one that I’m sure burns in many others’ minds, and probably your own. I have nothing to thank for this other than Blockland and the small team behind it; they have truly inspired me.

i do hope BL gets greenlit because a larger audience would invite a lot of cool new talent

What feedback have you recieved exactly?

not much. Basically just what taboo said.

This is most likely going to help us make it onto greenlight.
But don't forget, lets not be like idiots like we were with Nerd3.
Constantly spamming stuff at the Greenlight staff, ect.
