For now, it's probably going to move out of the free stage once it hits beta or late alpha. They're probably going to do something like KSP where you can download the demo, but that is only updated to a certain point, and there's still content being made, but you have to pay for it to see and use.

me and rykuta had a session of this earlier
we made a ship, i piloted and he was the weapons man, went to 1 planet, and also wrecked an abandoned space station. we WERE fighting a pirate, but the game totally glitched out and the ship got decollided and super buggy so we left that.
also, we kept exiting the ship and getting launched a quadrant away. not fun.

How the hell do I get my missiles to work

buy a computer for the missiles, place it first in builder mode and THEN the missiles.

also i killed approx 2 pirate ships yesterday and had more credits than could fit in the credit bar
i won the game essentially
and forget shield generators take up so much power

Learn to space station. Press M when floating in space as you character.

You will make a space station block. Have fun.
