Dude, .exe setups are insurmountably bigger than .zips, and .zips are insurmountably bigger than .rars.
Your best bet is a torrent if you need start/pause/stop downloading. I used this one (I'd find the original but this is easier)

It's about 4 gigabytes, iirc.

Well you are downloading an entire game. What's the problem with downloading the files on the website? You're going to be downloading about the same amount of data regardless of how you install it.
