bots (shaky because they were already done.)

let's see what gameplay features were taken away.

decent vehicle collision
decent fps on 1-2km sized maps
decent dog fights, fort wars, etc.

let's see what we got.

shadows and shaders that add nothing to gameplay because 50% of blockland users can't use them.

I swear, you are super stupid.

LETS SEE WHAT WE GOT:
- Faster updates
- More creative users
- Gamemodes
- Shaders
- Shadows
- Bots
- Speedkart

LETS SEE WHAT WE TOOK AWAY

- Super buggy and outdated maps

Can we not reduce every person highlighting benefits of terrain as stupid?

Just had to tell him how wrong he is, like nearly everything he said was wrong.

he was saying bricks perform 90% as well as terrain; it was a comparison.

they were working on patching because they wanted to avoid removing them, i'd guess. these 'patches' would be the attempts at reworking you're talking about, and when they weren't working, it would be decided to just remove them instead of wasting more time on them.

i'm sure if they wanted to rework enough of the engine to fix them they probably could, but, as it was said, they'd been trying for years with apparently unsatisfactory results.

this is what i was saying is the problem. they avoided removing them and this is the end result. they knew of the problem beforehand. they didn't "rework them" like i was saying in the quote examples. my "reworking" quotes would be re-writing the terrain system instead of applying quickfixes just to keep them "usable"
i don't see any record in the change logs of patches trying to improve terrain support with bricks/the general engine. the only thing i can find is things like "fixed errors if you use a blank png on terrain" which is just a standard problem not related to their apparent issue with them. when you apply "years of work" of bandages onto a broken frame, its only temporarily fixing the issue. eventually its going to come a time when these quickfixes don't work anymore, and this is the time.they took a path of quickfixing the terrain so the public can keep using it instead of re-coding it or removing it initially.

what you're saying is
They procrastinated fixing/removing terrain/interiors

please come back when you have never procrastinated ever
People might have reasons to not make servers, even if they have great ideas.

just leave. you are terrible at this. when i procrastinate, i sometimes wind up getting bad results compared to if i sit down initially and work things out. just because i procrastinated doesn't mean its a good thing to do and should be acceptable and good that they did it too. as a professional, its sloppy business to work like that.

I actually highly disagree with this. It seems to me that users actually got less creative, because ever since v21 was released there's been a much higher amount of stupid roleplay servers and freebuilds. Nothing new, original, or interesting. That is, on the server list. There are some pretty cool-looking stuff I've seen on this board.
