Aphtonites:

I remember back when the new shaders were revealed, every mapper was suddenly people who were worse than Riddler and were "slowing down the progress of the game".

--- Quote from: Nymph on April 11, 2013, 07:23:21 PM ---I swear, you are super stupid.

LETS SEE WHAT WE GOT:
- Faster updates
- More creative us
- Gamemodes
- Shaders
- Shadows
- Bots
- Speedkart

LETS SEE WHAT WE TOOK AWAY

- Super buggy and outdated maps
...

For forget's sake, It didn't suddenly result in "more creative users", how the hell does that even happen?

And the maps weren't "super buggy", it depended on their quality, of course a crappy map would be buggy.

Finally, someone who sees it like I do. This is exactly why I made this topic.

bots (shaky because they were already done.)

let's see what gameplay features were taken away.

decent vehicle collision
decent fps on 1-2km sized maps
decent dog fights, fort wars, etc.

let's see what we got.

shadows and shaders that add nothing to gameplay because 50% of blockland users can't use them.

i'm not sure you quoted the right post lol

the basis for your arguments is ~75% garbage (to put it rather rudely)

your 'decent server' thing is a non-issue and you're basically just stating you personally enjoyed them more pre-v21 because nobody's made a good X since then because they relied heavily on terrain and interior

the fps issue i've already talked about

again, vehicle collision is totally valid but vehicle-on-vehicle collision is probably worse than with bricks lol

shaders don't add to gameplay most of the time, but i honestly believe they were added as a distraction from the removal of T+I. the wording of the dev topic was unfortunate and made people believe they were being added in lieu of them.

false

fair enough.

i guess i was focused more on explaining why it was instead of how it should've been

i agree that if they were an issue they probably should've been removed earlier, but i'm skeptical that it was something the devs were willing to do

Not suddenly no, but now that people dont have the option of loading a map and slapping down zombie spawns, they will have to evolve to BUILD the maps

--- Quote from: heedicalking on April 11, 2013, 07:26:43 PM ---just leave. you are terrible at this. when i procrastinate, i sometimes wind up getting bad results compared to if i sit down initially and work things out. just because i procrastinated doesn't mean its a good thing to do and should be acceptable and good that they did it too. as a professional, its sloppy business to work like that.

that's the magic of procrastination for you

yeah um
they aren't really evolving
