likely a mountain bike for street driving. cuz i dun gib a fuq!

I use a mountain bike, much more comfortable than hunching forward on road bike. Plus the mountain bike can handle a torn up street without and you can go onto the side of a road.


Also anyone drive through sand or interested in doing it? Sand and loose dirt can be hazardous and recommended that you avoid it. Otherwise glow slow, avoid leaning too much, and making sharp turns. You will slip and slide by doing that.

Also, on my bike... Encase anyone is wondering why the saddle is so high. My height is 6 foot 2, which isn't a big deal - but my inseam (length from the ground to my crotch, total length of my legs) is 38 inches. The average for a person who is 6 foot 2 is 32 inch. My legs are loving long.

Absolutely love cycling, I have a hybrid and a road bike. Hybrid is great as there's a lot of nice road/dirt track routes around here, road bike is for putting in the miles obviously.

My dad was a huge cyclist and he just out of nowhere prepared a road bike for me. I personally find mountain biking more fun, despite not being very technically good, also the clips on the mountain bikes are double sided which is a lot cooler. I usually use my dad's Gary Fisher or Trek since he doesn't mind.

It depends on what your using it for, if your riding along forest trails or doing proper mountain riding, this bike is good, but it really needs disc brakes for that.

Last summer I found an old Huffy Mt. Storm 26" All-Terrain (hybrid) bike hidden away in our shed. The gear shifting is stuck and the brakes are pretty laughable so I'm looking on craigslist for a new mountain/all terrain bike :s
I think the longest I've ridden was from my house to the nearest town and back through hilly back roads, which is about 11 miles round trip.

May I ask, did you have your bikes fitted for you specifically, and if so, how tall are you/inseam size? I'm having difficulties with mine at the moment. I'm 6 foot 2 and my inseam is 38 inches... my legs are way too long.

Naaa, just picked the frame size that was most suitable to me. They're only entry level bikes, the Cannondale was £750 and the Specialized £550 I think.

I have a fairly new bike that for some unknown reason, the entire crank that the pedal is on just falls off while riding.

It gets loose then just falls off, crank and pedal. I think it's because the little square fitting is all carved out into a circle a bit, but if anyone has any advice on what I should do, let me know. Because I will most likely just get a new bike unless there is some solution I just don't know about.

There are two bolts that hold the crank arms and crank assembly together, they should be on the crank assembly and TIGHT as forget.





if these bolts aren't there you need to get them replaced ASAP. There's also a lockring that holds the the crank assembly and bearings in place, hopefully that hasn't fallen off.
