if you're being serious right now, it runs on opengl when running on the ps3. DirectX and OpenGL are APIs, they don't have anything to do with the art other than rendering it.

According to Bisjac, all the consoles must be torched in the name of the pc gods. What is wrong with DirectX anyway?

it was, at least in 9, super stuffty and complicated, then fragmented the user base with 10 and 11 (and again with 12, it looks like). It's also windows exclusive and is controlled by a single entity. OpenGL has been around for a long time, was developed in part by major graphics companies, and supports just about every platform out there.
