this is all assuming that OP is talking to one specific person.

One person or a group of them.
OP is annoyed about some behavior, obviously he had to meet people that acted in said fashion.

you even said it yourself that OP isn't being specific, so why are you making such assumptions?

I generally took it as a direct challenge and still do. It's probably because I'm competitive by nature, but I've always enjoyed sparring with people; even if they can't follow my points(My fault or theirs, don't care which).
