Both ways are pretty easy since the Blockhead model is made up of flat edges.

I simply turned up my resolution as high as it could, took a screenshot up as close as I could to the blockhead so it would fill the entire screen, wanded the background out and then resized it a bit smaller (1080 height to ~900 height) so the transparent edges would be antialiased.
