its really fun to make 64x baseplate DM's: they're fast to complete, simple in execution, and help you practice making balanced minigame builds. try to have each mini DM have one main feature/quirk going for it, such as vertical combat, maze, stealth, jumping, etc.

i was gonna make the island pretty big, but the buildings are gonna be small.
