Need to know something about Gmail.

Kind of a dumbass question to ask, but when i send a email, it leaves a email in my outbox containing what i sent
if i delete that email, will it not send the email that i sent?

outbox is for already sent mail
on the other hand, the drafts section is stuff you haven't sent
