What GUI edits are there?

Without read-only? not as if you really win with any of the methods but
the main other way is user content alpha (more hard-drive intensive)
or you could use custom ui (incompatible with some mods, makes gui take longer to create)
the only other real option really would be a custom launcher if you know how to do that

There's another option: complete ui remake

that's true but that's not generally what's referred to in this context

It's also a giant ammount of work, but if you have a great design (for example fluffy's guis) it can be really worth it
