Author Topic: So somehow my iPhone's screen got cracked. How much does it cost to repair?  (Read 1750 times)

So I just got out of the shower and picked up my phone to reply to a text when I got a piece of glass stuck in my thumb. I have no clue how it managed to get cracked, especially since I spent ~50 dollars on a damn case for it. Now I'm just curious how much it would cost to get the screen replaced.

Also, I have been thinking about getting a new phone for awhile (Not an iPhone, maybe Android), so if the price is too steep, what kind of phone should I think about getting?

Nexus 4

Samsung S4 GE

HTC One GE

I'm pretty sure you can buy a repair kit and the glass for the phone online really cheap.

It's not worth it to fix it. If it's a large crack, it can take upwards of 50 dollars to fix. A hairline crack can take about 15 dollars, but in reality, just buy a new phone or live with it.

If its under warranty than apple can replace it I believe

this is my phone.

i want a Nexus 4.

This is the reason I don't buy Apple products. No, this isn't about some kind of Windows/Android fanboy stuff. For one, they make their products fragile on PURPOSE so you'll buy their top-price warranty which in fact costs you more than the phone is worth to fix.

EDIT: By the way, they don't repair it, they tell you to buy a new one, full price.

So instead of paying $50, he should buy a new phone for $100-$150?
Sounds like a smart way to spend money.

Google why apple products are so fragile, you'll see what I mean.

Funny how Ive been usin iPads since the first one came out and iphones for many years now and have never cracked a screen. They don't make them fragile. You guys are just dumb and careless.
